All courses listed for the minor have a prerequisite of ENGL 1106 First-Year Writing or COMM 1016 Communication Skills.

Students who have taken ENGL 3764 Technical Writing or ENGL 3774 Business Writing prior to declaring the minor can substitute that course for ENGL 2844 Introduction to Professional and Technical Writing. Students cannot take either ENGL 3764 or ENGL 3774 after declaring the minor and have it substituted.

Graduation Requirements

  1. To graduate with a minor in Technical and Scientific Communication, students must complete all courses comprising the minor (18 hrs) with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  2. Minimum credits to complete minor: 18.
